Topic A: Combatting Gender-Based Harassment in the Workplace
Though there have been decades of legal reform, gender-based harassment continues to be a persistent barrier to workplace equality. This discrimination is seen through things like unfair hiring practices as well as sexual harassment that threatens to retailaite against people that speak against abuse. These unfair practices also disproportionately affect vulnerable populations such as the queer community and migrants because of the lack of legal protections. The International Labour Organization must address all the factors that allow workplace harassment to persist. This means strengthening global standards for both accountability and prevention. The ultimate goal is to develop strategies to eliminate gender-based harassment to promote a more equitable workplace worldwide.
